What is?

User-friendly Spectank® is a soaking application that will remove fat, oil, grease and black carbon from heavy-use cooking equipment. Grills, filters, gastro trays, pots, pans etc., will be like new, sanitised and shiny with minimal effort or cost. You can remove ‘scrubbing’ from your kitchen porter’s job description.

Our full-service Spectank® rental solutions allow you to use the tank, but leave all the maintenance to us. Our experienced technicians will drain, clean and refresh your tank each month. Your payment also includes all maintenance, training, non-scheduled call-outs, parts or tank replacements.

Introducing Spectank® into your kitchen means that you will no longer have endlessly running water, use untold energy to heat the water, and literally pour single-use chemicals down the drain.

CARBSOLVE® is a proprietary, non-corrosive and biodegradable cleaning powder designed to work in Spectank® systems.

Cleaner equipment

The build-up of black carbon, fat, oil and grease on extraction filters, grills, gastro trays, pots and other kitchen equipment is a by-product of a busy kitchen operation. Not only is it unsightly and unhygienic, it reduces heat output and is a significant fire hazard. Over 70 per cent of kitchen fires start in the ventilation systems from unnecessary build-up.

With Spectank®, all filters and equipment are immersed in the solution, ensuring that the total surface area is submerged, resulting in the complete removal of all fat, oil and grease (FOG). Even with the best intentions, your kitchen porter will not be able to remove this build-up by hand.

If your kitchen has not yet received the Spectank® treatment, an initial 24 to 48-hour soak will eradicate many years of carbon build-up and leave equipment looking shiny and new. We will work with you to create a bespoke cleaning schedule that will maintain this newfound cleanliness.

Which equipment would I clean in the Spectank®?

Spectank® works 24/7 and can be used for day and night time soaking.

Therefore, you can clean pots, pans and baking trays directly after use; more heavily used items such as grills, filters and gas rings will benefit from a longer overnight soak.

How does Spectank affect my bottom line?

Spectank® reduces costs in two ways:

1. Reduction in resources, including hot water, chemicals and labour costs
2. The option to redistribute staff to improve their skills, overall team efficiency and reduce staffing costs

How much space will I need for a Spectank®?

Our smallest unit is the Mini-Mini which requires at least 80cm x 40cm floor and 75cm height space. Our Vital Hospitality team is adept at viewing kitchens with fresh eyes and can create suitable space when necessary.

How do we change the chemicals in the Spectank®?

CARBSOLVE® chemicals last at least one month. As part of the monthly Spectank® service, we undertake all maintenance, including a scheduled monthly service to refresh the tank.

Don’t forget that there are zero charges for unscheduled repairs and assistance. We have you covered.

Our kitchen porter has been with us for years and does a great job. Why should we change to Spectank®?

Spectank® is not a replacement for your kitchen porter. Your KP provides an essential service in your kitchen and ensures that each chef has clean equipment available.
